Cupcake Love

I have had an obsession with cupcakes for a number of years now.  But only recently have I decided that I want to take that obsession further than collecting notebooks with cupcake pictures on them to actually decorating fun cupcakes.  So on Saturday I went off to the Cake Mega Store at Long Jetty to learn how to apply fondant to cupcakes.

We created six cupcakes with a black and white theme.

I went the the lovely Miss Georgina and Miss Debbie, my ever faithful side-kicks!  LOL.

We have so much fun together, lots of laughter.  Here is me with my creations.

And then I came home and quickly piped a whole bunch of cupcakes to take out to our friends place for dinner.  This is what I want to play with next, piping decadent swirls on top of pretty little cakes.  (These were a little sparse as I needed to ice about 40 of them and didn't quite have enough icing to be decadent).

Hmmmm, this is a new obsession I think!!  I will keep you posted.

Summer rip-off

We were so ripped off this summer don't you think? We hardly spent any time doing summer activities and barely visited the beach even though we live near some of the most beautiful in the world. But last year we did a whole bunch of beach going and here is one photo that I scrapped of Nathan that I just LOVE.

And I love those rosettes.  Been using them everywhere.

This is how they see me......

Yep, this is how my family sees me most of the time.  One of my kids took this photo across the table from me at a restaurant in Sydney.  I AM the Memory Recorder!

I love doing pretty, girly pages.  Doilies, seam binding ribbon..........sigh!!

So it's great that my kids are now taking control of one of the many cameras I take with me on our outings (yes, either the iphone, point & shoot or the DSLR!!).  I finally get proof that I am there!! LOL.

Easter Wishes from Me to You!!

We have had such a lovely Easter here in the Hughes household.  We shopped and ate and hang out at home!  It was great and now the kids have gone off to the Grandparents for a holiday and I am going to get busy creating some crafty stuff.........yippeeee!  

Do you like my Easter Pancakes?  I made these for the kids yesterday morning and they thought they were pretty awesome.  I was inspired by the ones I found here.  Fun to make too.

Cricket Cards for Everyone

Sam went to a joint birthday party recently for his best friend and a girl on their cricket team.  So of course as they ALL played together this season for the local cricket team, I made them both cricket inspired cards.
